     Served in Navy from July 22, 1944 to July 1946. Saw action in Pacific during WW II.
Retired in summer 1981 from Carthage Post Office after being a letter carrier fro 30 years.

"He was a member of Carthage American Legion Post 789, Veterans' of Foreign Wars Post 7227, Elks Lodge 1762, and was an honorary member of the Knights of Columbus Council 291. He was a longtime member of the West Carthage Fire Department and a member of its Exempt Company."

"On Aug 3, 1944, he joined the Navy, serving with the Seabees until his discharge as a machinists' mate, third class, on June 12, 1946. He saw duty in Rhode Island, California, Hawaii, Iwo Jima, and Japan. He served with the 450th Postal Unit in the Army Reserves with the 332nd Ordinance Battalion."
