     Worked for New York Telephone Co. Oct 23, 1910 to Dec 29, 1956. At time of retirement he was involved in repair and maintenance of telephone central office, 170 Stone Street, Watertown, NY. He was known as an inside man. He was honored by his associates at retirement dinner at Cold Creek Inn, Oct 19, 1956 after 46 years.

From St Petersburg/Tampa: Take Gandy Blvd accross bridge (from St. Pete.) then follow signs for the Crosstown Expressway East. After paying (.50 + 1.00) second toll, go to 3rd Exit which is Faulkingburg Road. Go right on Faulkingburg Road (South) to 1st traffic light. Take left on CauseWay Blvd to 2nd light. Take left on Kings Avenue to 2nd street on right which is Overland Drive. First house #617 on right.

In March 2000 left principalship after 15 years and became the Supervisor of Employee Relations at the district office. On the bargaining team with boss who is lead negotiator for the union contracts in the district. We also deal with employee grievances, parent complaints, law suits, and anything else the Assistant Superintendent for Human Resources or Superintendent passes our way.

Killed May 4, 1982 with friend Linda Moran,24, of Jacksonville, NC by Raul Eugene,19, a marine corporal who was AWOL, in robery. The 22 year-old West Carthage native and girlfriend Linda Moran were abducted at gunpoint by Eugene and an unknown accomplice for the parking lot of a Jacksonville night club May 4 and forced to drive away in her car.
     About a half-hour later, the kidnapers robbed the victims and let them out of the car about seven miles outside the city. Eugene then fired a shot at the woman but missed. A second shot struck Sergeant Jarvis in the head. He died later that day at the Navy Regional Medical Center, Camp LeJeune, N.C.
     Eugene, who was arrested in Brooklyn May 11 by New York City Police and the Naval Investigative Service, faces a maximum jail sentence of life or 50 years, pus and additional 160 years on the assault and kidnapping convictions.
