Wedding Shower given by Betty Giles at 95 Troup St, Apt 102 on Jul 22, 1959 8pm

Married Saturday, Aug 22, 1959 at the Chaumont, NY Presbyterian Church. Rev. David J. Broad, pastor, officiated. Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a full length gown of white satin taffeta, princess style with square neckline and long tapering sleeves. A halfmoon crown held her figertip viel. She carried white roses and flowers on a Bible.

Miss Elizabeth giles of Scottsville was maid of honor. She was in light green taffeta, ballerina length gown, princess style with inverted skirt pleats. She had a pill box hat with scalloped stays in front with an illusion veil, matching shoes and gloves.

The bridesmaids were Miss Carol Comparato of the Bronx, NY, Miss Mary Frances Bicknell of Ridgewood, NJ, sister of the bridegroom. They were attired similarly to the honor attendant but in rose beige color.

Capt. Robert S. Bicknell of Ann Arbor, Mich, was the best man. The ushers were James T. Shannon, brother of the bride, Paul Anderson of Midland, TX, uncle of the bridegroom, Donald S. Bicknell, Burlington, VT, couson of the bridegroom.

Married in the parsonage of the First Baptist Church, Watertown, by Rev. Guy L. Brown, then pastor.
Attendants were John and Eva Shannon, Ruth Lester (Christopher) and the late Wendell Harrigan.

Spent most of their married life in Watertown, before moving to Carthage. In this village they were members of the First Presbyterian Church.

50th Wedding Aniversary celebrated by family at Tomacy's Resturant Aug. 19, 1978. And at a surprise party Nov. 29, 1978 at the Kapok Tree Inn, Clearwater, FL given by Mr. and Mrs. Jack Lazier, their son-in-law and daughter.

Married Dec 15, 1956 at 2pm by Rev. John M. Whallon pastor in the First Presbyterian Church, Lyons, NY. The bride wore a full length gown of white taffeta fashioned with a skuare neckline and long fitted sleeves. A taffeta cap trimmed with white sequins held her fingertip veil of nylon. She carried a corsage of white carnations on a white bible. Barbara Shannon, her sister, was maid of honor and wore a peacon blue ballerina length princess style gown. Her headdress was of white fur and she carried a corsage of blue carnation on a white fur muff. Sally Jean Engels, neice of the bridegroom was the flower girl. She wore a white waltz length gown with net over-skirt and blue ballerina slippers. Her corsage of blue and white carnations was also attached to a white fur muff. John Lazier of Lyons, RD, was best man for his brother and the ushers were Bruce Stephans and Walter Froelicks both of Lyons. James Shannon, brother of the bride, sang "The Lord's Prayer" and Charles S. Rooke of Lyons, RD 1, sang "O Perfect Love." A reception was held immediately following the ceremony at the VFW Hall, which was appropriately decorated for the occassion. The bride is a graduate of Keuka College School of Nursing class of 1954. The bridegroom is employed at the Lyons Apple Products, Inc. They are now at home in an apartment at 89 Water Street, Lyons.

Suprise party given by daughter Mrs Patrick Shannon, 435 Gotham Street, Watertown, NY on Oct 1, 1947 to observe their 45th anniversary of marriage.

     "Mr. Shannon, now retired, operated gasoline stations at the corner of Sate and Gifford streets and also on the Evans Mills-Camp Drum road. At the former, he and Mrs. Shannon were injured in April 1946, when a large trailer-truck missed the State street-Gifford street corner and plunged into the Shannons' living quarters in the gasoline station Mr. Shannon was then operating."
